Steve O’Connor
(歐書亭)
Chairman of JULAC (Joint University Librarians

Editor of Library Management
Steve O’Connor is the University Librarian at
the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has held
other similar posts in higher education in Australia.
He has extensive experience in managing organisations
large and small, income-based as well as expenditure-based.
His work has a research and futures emphasis to
ensure that library and information services are
focused to achieve the most efficient and cost-beneficial
outcomes for both students and a relevance for
their institutions.
He has researched, published, spoken, consulted
and taught very extensively in the areas of change,
organisational management, information delivery,
scenario and strategic planning, as well as the
wider library and information environment. He
has been integrally involved in the development
of digital information services and in the provision
of consortium strategies to service improvement.
He has special current interests in low costs
storage of research materials, the skills set
for future librarians, the e-readiness of developing
countries and scenario planning as a tool for
future libraries.
He is currently focused on the creation of sustainable
new business models for our future. He is well
respected. He is currently the Chairman of JULAC
(the University Librarians in Hong Kong). He is
the Editor of the international peer reviewed
journal Library Management and has recently launched,
with a number of Chinese colleagues, the Library
Management China Issue.
歐書亭先生是香港理工大學圖書館館長。他曾在澳大利亞多間高校圖書館擔任類似的職位。
他具有豐富的管理大小機構及各種組織的經驗。他的工作主要集中於圖書館及資訊服務機構,對使用者提供最有效的各種服務以及規劃將來的服務途徑。
他從事研究、出版、顧問諮詢及教學工作,尤其是在機構管理、資訊傳遞、情境及戰略規劃等方面。他曾經大量參與資訊數位化服務的發展及地區間資訊服務戰略聯盟的建立。
目前歐書亭集中創立未來圖書館運營新模式。他在行內很受尊重也是國際同行評議期刊圖書館管理的主編。

景祥祜
(Hsianghoo Steve Ching)
Hsianghoo Steve Ching is University Librarian
at City University of Hong Kong. He is also a
Professor of Economics. Before accepting the appointments
at CityU in 2004, he was Director of University
Libraries and Professor of Business School at
Feng Chia University in Taiwan. He received both
his MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
USA. His recent research focuses are on the academic
library consortia development and management,
strategic development for digital publishing,
changing management of library services, and economic
issues for PRD & YRD.

陳麗霞
(Diana Chan)
Diana Chan is the Associate Librarian of Public
Services at City University of Hong Kong. She
had previously worked in the Hong Kong University
of Science and Technology Library and the David
Lam Library at the University of British Columbia.
She received her BBA from the Chinese University
of Hong Kong and her MLS from San Jose State University
in California. Her recent research areas include
virtual reference, user education, institutional
repository and ebooks.
